2004 E500 ignition problem!
Did it have problems starting when the engine was hot and then after cooling off it was able to start?
You stated that it wouldn't start when you got it home, how long was it parked before you tried starting it again?

In that case, it sounds like a bad Crankshaft Position Sensor. It's a common issue with all Benzes. It may actually die on you while you are driving, so get it fixed quickly!!!!!
Do a search. You can buy them online (Ebay, etc.) for about $40-$50.
It's about a 10 minute job so if you are capable with tools, do it. Otherwise the dealer will rob you.
You will need a E8 torx socket.
PM me if you have more questions or need help.

Did it work? I guess it is time for me to replace mine - I had this issue twice in 2 weeks time frame. Also I get Check Engine light after that for a while…
Dealer price for the sensor $163.02.

The original poster just explained "When I turn it to iginition, it just make sound and won't start". It isn't clear to me if the engine cranked or not, it could have been just a starter solenoid problem if it was the starter motor making noise but not cranking the engine. If the engine did crank, then it would likely be the CPS sensor.

And something tells me that original poster had the same symptoms.
The only question is – is the sensor goes bad or just dirty?
Just had sensor replaced - will see what happens.
Yes, is you know where it is
- 15 min. Just had to cut some strips to get those wires out of the way. Buy the way, somebody say it is easier doing it from the bottom - don't see how...
