Strange sounds from rear at stop lights.

I have noticed weird sound coming from the rear of my 2007 E350 at stop lights. I can only describe the sound as sort of a heat expansion noise but kinda of loud. If the stereo is up i do not hear but if it is down, i hear the noise.

I believe the sound has always been there since I purchased the car, but do to my infatuated with the the car I think I have overlooked this noise. The car is a CPO and is still under warranty.

Are there any known issues from the right rear of the car that would create such a sound?

This is OT, but all I have to say is the granite gray is the most beautiful color. And after 07, they stopped offering it on the C, E, and CLS. I just was at a hookah lounge in sherman oaks and one of my friends, who is a girl, was there and she said "I knew you were here cause I saw your car and knew it was yours. You have the most beautiful paint color I have ever seen."

Sorry I can't help you on the real issue here.
