Just curious. I am a bit OCD, my wife just calls it "annoying". But does anyone else put their car in the garage every day and cover it? I have a "work" car, so my E350 only comes out on weekends, when the weather is nice...
My first Benz, amazing what a solid car. I bought it CPO, 2006 E350 4matic, 31,000 miles. Clear marker lenses, AMG pedals, tints coming soon. Flint grey, nav, sirius, elegance pkg. Just "cleaned" all the crummy dealer marketing from it.

I like the "lite" mods, cosmetic, no change to factory warranty...

A cover is pretty redundant once it's in the garage. OCD, for sure.

Always garaged. I use an indoor cover during winter when I rarely take the car out.

A cover while its in a garage? Well, have you ever thought of a cover for your cover .. you know .. should your cover ever get holes in it?

But yeah I'm pretty careful with my car.

Of course driving it at XXX mph and getting rock chips is no fun, but I enjoy my car a lot. I've pretty much gone through my tires in just under 20k miles.

I think its over the top if its effecting your enjoyment of the car. So a cover in a garage is redundant and pointless, but whatever lets you sleep at night.

I know some crazies who cover their carpeted floor mats (which are there to protect the carpeted floor which is not readilly removeable) with clear plastic or rubber floor mats... so Mats to cover the floor and mats to cover the mats... ugh!

My car is never garaged & washed once or twice a week at the local car wash, depending on the weather forcast or if I want to cruise around.

What may be redundant and pointless to one may be a useful to another especially if the garage entrance is constantly used for access to the house. A cover provides basic protection against scrapes and dings from passing human traffic. I cover mine if I am away on business or vacation or during winter when it snows but then you don't get snow in CA

Oups that will be me, I cover a plastic cover in the carpet floor and try to keep it as clean as posible. I used to live in Montreal with a lot of snow but in California really no use. It became an addict to keep my car in and out clean so...... wash it once per week....

Always keep it in garage but no cover.

But in all seriousness .. we get snow in California. I'm 5 mins from the beach, an hour from the desert and an hour from the snow. Take your pick.

I cover the car in the garage because we have cats. They tend to like to sleep on my wife's car though.

Actually, I'm more worried that the car body is not clean and I scratch-up the paint or the car dirty-up the cover so that it scratches-up the paint next time I put it on. I worry too much ... but hey I can barely afford the car.

I had a pearl-white LS400 for nearly 20 years in the garage in near perfect condition. Recently, somebody hit it and put a big dent on the rear quarter panel and the insurance declared it totaled. Maybe I shouldn't worry about the scratches since no matter how careful I am, something will bound to happen and my precious car will to be declared totaled. Now I own a used MB that is not even as-good-as the condition of my LS400 before the accident.

My car sits in the Garage 90% of the time (at least), as I too can't find enough time to drive it, seemingly. About Garage's, I'm WAY too **** and OCD to leave my car outside, even for long periods of time. If I do, I'll usually do a once-over for bird poop and wipe any off with a chamois.

I don't cover it up inside the Garage though, I feel I have to draw the line somewhere. Also, I'd be afraid of scratching it up as well, and putting a dirty cover over a clean car, etc.

Get a car duster, I have one that ISN'T a wax-coated California-Duster (I can't remember the name of mine), it's truly amazing. If your car is already clean, than you can quickly wipe off light surface dust, scratch free.

I've got a rope and pulley system hooked up so I drop a blanket down from the ceiling. Works great in the garage, just release the rope and drop the blanket, no damage from pulling a regular car cover over. Much faster too.

My car is black on black....dusts show like crazy even just sitting overnight. As well, it serves well from human traffic.

Wow that blanket with the pulley is so amazing, but you gotta make sure your car is clean before you drop that on it don't you?

The blankets are very light and when you drop the blanket, it kind of just floats down onto the car. I don't worry about whether the car is dirty or not, the blanket barely rubs the paint at all.

So its definatley something many of us do (cover our garage kept cars). I agree with some of the posts; you have to make sure the car is clean, and I use an indoor cover that is very soft....again, just to prevent damage from incidental kid-contact. With my car in the garage sometimes for two weeks at a time the cover is not on and off every day...which would be a pain. Peace to all.... Tom

Kept in the garage without a cover, unless I'm leaving it for more than a week. A cover goes on only if it's freshly washed.

I guess I fail. I keep the CLS and R garaged. No cover inside though. The E sites on the parking pad on the side of the house.

The blanket from the ceiling is classic.

Yeah, I like that blanket from the sky thing. But it's a bit too compulsive for lazy me.

I only cover my Porsche when it sits for more than a month. And then it gets a nice blanket from these guys: http://www.calcarcover.com/cover_about.aspx
And also a battery tender, and mothballs underneath to keep any rodents from sleeping in the engine bay and snacking on the wiring.

The E63 is treated like one of the unwashed masses. After all, it's my daily driver.
