Yipes, Rear defroster on turns radio off!!
I have just purchased a 2003 E500 with 63,000 miles on it from a dealer in Florida. On my drive home to Georgia, the back window fogged up. I was listening to the radio to keep me awake on my nine hour drive. Anytime I turned on the rear defroster with the radio on, the radio signal/reception would completely disappear and I was left with hissssss until I turned off the rear defroster.
No, I don't have any window tinting and it wasn't just the center speaker that touches the window. It was all 10 speakers.
For clarity sake, I would occasionally receive a faint, scratchy station but it appears that the defroster killed my antennae.
Any ideas, gang?

PS: If back glass needs to be replaced, what type of problem (i.e. water leakage, wind draft and noise etc.) am I likely to experience?
