moonroof/sunroof, opens 1 inch at a time
I have to press the moonroof button about 10 times to get the roof to open completely. each time it's pressed it goes back about an inch and stops. is there something that needs to be programmed, like holding the buttons down etc to get it to do the one push open?? thanks 05 E500 sport

this happened . . . . .
This happened on my 99 and to correct whatever went wrong, I tried the reset function: With the roof closed, open the rear vent feature and hold it up for five seconds, at first it seems it is all the way up (open) but then it will go up just a little bit more and then it is reset.

I found that a complete reset for all switch positions is necessary sometimes. with roof open all the way back hold the switch for opening for 10 sec. then close and hold for 10 sec. then flip up and hold for 10 then down and hold for 10. This worked on my 2005 E500 w211.

Mine on my 2009 E350 only opens, closes, and vents up a little at a time. I had to push the button probably 10-15 times to get it to open/close all the way. I tried resetting it and it's still not working... maybe I'm dense and doing it wrong... Do I have to open it all the way and then hold for 10 seconds? then close all the way and hold for 10 seconds, then open vent all the way and hold for 10 seconds? I've tried it so many times doing it different was to no avail...Any advice?

Try reset several times if it fails on first attempt. Cannot reset at all, consider cleaning/lubricating. Do not use WD40, Plastilube multi-purpose lubricant works well.
