I have a 05 E 320 CDI.

Had a low impact front end collision. Big snow storm slide-in chain crash at about 8 mph...

Both xenon headlamps had busted brackets.

Amazingly, they still worked. They were not even out of allignment to badly.

It just looked ugly.

One had a cracked headlight case. That one was replaced for $1450 USD.

The other one only needed a "bracket" to reconnect the main headlight case to the attachment on the top side of the headlight case. The original attachment point/bracket had a crack through it when the bumper cover was pushed in a little bit.

I was told by the MB shop guys that MB came up with this inexpensive "fix-it" to save trashing a perfectly good, $1450.00 headlamp assembly save for a cracked attachment bracket.

I've driven 60,000 miles since the repair...no issues with the bracket. Car now has 132,000 miles.
