You will get what you pay for. Good paint requires lots of prep time, a good paint booth and a very experienced painter. Not the place to cheap out.

The cost to refinish a specific panel(s) is made up of labor & refinish materials. New panels don't require as much prep time as a used part. To "properly" refinish a used bumper cover (or any other part) it should be stripped or nearly stripped back to primer. Then reprimed & block sanded to remove any surface defects. Most production paint & body shops (including high end shops) will not usually strip a used part unless there is body work that needs to be performed prior to refinish. Restoration shops "will" usually do a complete strip.
Anyhow, . . . refinish time on a typical (new) hood is aprox 4.3 hours including edging & under side refinish, fender time is aprox 3.7 hours, bumper cover around 2.8 hours. Times vary based on vehicle model.
Most (paint & body) shops (in the area where I'm located) charge $40 to $45 an hour. Shops in some parts of the country charge $80 to $100 per hour.
Refinish materials vary substantially depending on the paint system being used, and the color involved. Red is much more expensive that most other colors.
Paint material charges are usually figured as a mulitple of the total number of refinish labor hours. So, if the job required 10 hours of refinish time, material charges might be calculated at $35 per paint hour = $350.
Then, there would probably be additional clean-up & prep time added into the used bumper.
The labor (flat rate) times are defined in several data bases such as Mitchell, ADP, & CCC. You could ask the shop manager or estimator what they would be for an E500 along with the predominate labor rate in your area. Then find out what the going material (per hour) rate is ,& calculate the costs from there.
This may be TMI but some may find it useful on down the line.
