How much to fix irritating gravel ding (size: one quarter of pencil eraser) on 2007 E350 hood? Thanks

 

It really depends on if the complete hood requires respraying. I had a stone bounce off the hood in my first week of ownership. MB paint shop said the complete hood required repainting to color match; instead I filled the chip with several layers of OEM paint and got by.

 

Is the paint broken? If not you might see if PDR can remove it. Otherwise you need to repaint the complete hood or if you don't mind, a little dab will do ya. That will, at least, get rid of the primer/paint mismatch.

 

Is it a ding with a chipped paint? If it is just a ding with no paint damage, it is probably $50. Paintless dent removal usually cost that much.

 

If the paints/Clear coats are not cracked, You can simply do PDR and will run around $175 to 200 per panel. I've called the mobil pdr guy to fix my door ding and came out perfect and smooth...

 

Looks like a microscopic cracked egg, and slighly indented--so maybe paint/clear coat is cracked; MBTenn
