NEWBIE Question Re: ECU Flashes and Mods
Hi All -
Hope this isn't too dumb a question. But I see a lot of posts related to doing "ECU" flashes. Seems a lot are related to performance and the tranny.
Can someone explain the purpose of these. Probably a million answers to this...so don't mean it to be a loaded question. But I'm interested if it means better performance and/or reliability. And how do you know when to do this (are there indications somehow)? Lastly where do you get it done..at a certified MB dealer or workplace? I live in teh Ann Arbor, MI area if anyone has a recommendation.
I also saw there is one you can do to get the governing of max speed removed...I definitely wanna do this.
I am also considering some mods to my 2007 E350 Sport. Love the wheels so don't think I'll invest that way. If anyone has some ideas I'd really appreciate your opinion(s). Looking mostly to impact appearance for more "wow" factor. My car is 100% stock right now - but I have seen some of the mods done on other cars and they are fantastic. I have a few thousand to spend; want to get the most bang for my buck.
