Sercet code to remove belt beep

I want to get rid of safety belt beep tone. I got access to the car computer (2007 E550), but do not know how to change the numbers. Anyone can help?!

You don't need access to the car computer, any of them to get rid of the safety belt beep tone. I'm quite upset a European member even asks this.

One can version code the seat belt chime off via the SDS

Or just wear your seat belt

I always wear a seatbelt. I would however like to disable the chime since I typically set groceries on the passenger seat, and that triggers the chime.

It would be great to know how to turn it off.

As stated above, if you have someone or something on the seat, buckle the belt, doesn't harm the grocery stuff at the seat and you can still make a stranger use the seatbelt even if he/she is not willing to use it.

Another option is to place the purchases differently, you would also avoid the passenger airbag exploding at an accident (a lot of extra costs to fix the car), I guess the grocery stuff would not really need the airbag.

Right, and I'm quite upset with this stupid answer. If you have no answer, why bother...?!

They happen to have a non-MB laptop to connect to the car, and can see the code (something like 48726) where you should change one number to another. Help to that is welcome.

Right, this is why it need to be a non-dealer. But then they (usually, like in my case) do not know how to do it.

MB has high reputation on safety, this is what some of us try to promote. A pity if this upsets you.

I would actually be able to give you the instructions (not personal knowledge but I have friends who know and help when ever I ask, what ever I ask) but luckily I'm allowed to decide who to help, guess what I've decided and why. I wish you are not all equal at your neighbourhood, and I wish you you luck with your friends when solving your problem.

I personally love the beeping.... Once it beeps I look over at the passenger and say "yo the $h!t is beeping again" perfect safety feature and a way to avoid tickets...

When I got mine it was disabled. It only beeps in the first few seconds when you start the car. I wanted to get it enabled. I'm not sure why you even have an option for this.

What most of you don't see is that there is a difference between US and ROW versions. In the US it quits after a few seconds. In ROW it doesn't. Plus ROW gets different pictograms instead of idiot lights.

It pays to look at location and not just presume that everything works the same all over - ref posts on MBW for discussed differences.

Interestingly, although the fasten seat belt icon illuminates on the cluster until I strap in, my '05 E500 does not make a single seat belt beep. Nothing, ever.

Did you ever get this resolved? If so, can you post the details?
