"illuminated" roof spoiler
i am going to be purchasing a roof spoiler and i have a small idea that may look nice... i will probably do this regardless and take it out if looks bad, but... i want to add the roof spoiler (carbon fiber finish) and then get a white LED strip and place it under and inside the spoiler at a very low wattage just so it dims a small glow under it and on the glass i think it would look very unique, but as well i may get a red strip and connect it to my 3rd break light and have it act as a break strip that will dim very little under the spoiler. what do you all think? again, this is for the ROOF spoiler... dont mistake it w. the lip (b.c. i think that would look ricer)

I WAS THINKIN' BOUT DOIN ALMOST THE SAME THING BUT INSTEAD OF THE LOW GLOW... I WANTED LIKE A BRAKE LIGHT... BUT I WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO MAKE A HOLE IN MY CAR TO GET THE WIRING THROUGH... AND IM NOT ABOUT TO DRILL ANY KINDA HOLE IN MY CAR

well... were u going to put it under a roof spoiler as well? b.c. then u can put it inside the car.... (and if u have tins just cut the film off at that little spot... just enough for the light you would add would come through the glass) i was going to put an LED strip inside the car cut my tint about a quarter of an inch (thats how thick the led lite is) and then have it shine through the glass and downward coming out of the roof spoiler.... kind of like an opt. illusion i guess from the outside... same look, but the light woudlnt be inside the spoiler but behind it, get wat i mean?

THAT ACTUALLY SOUNDS SMART... I JUST WANTED IT TO LOOK LIKE THE TAILLIGHTS DO.. WITH THE LIL LEDS BUT A RED (OF WHATEVER COLOR) GLOW WOULD LOOK DIFFERENT TOO.. IF U END UP DOING IT.. U GOTTA PUT SOME PICS.. ALSO.. EVEN IF ITS INSIDE THE WINDOW... U STILL GOTTA TAKE THE WHOLE CAR APART TO PUT THEM IN DONT YA UNLESS U WANT A BUNCH OF WIRES HANGING AROUND

well... its not that much hiding work you're going to have to run the wire along the side of the window which u can push into your ceiling liner with a little credit card or something with a thin undamagable rough edge and afterward from there you can go two ways (it needs to be a brake light so.... you would have to get into your trunk and connect to to the real 3rd brake light....) i can tell you how after i do it b.c. i have opened all those area when i installed my subwoofers.... basically you go to the the headrest area into the trunk up to your trunk door to your 3rd brake light, its not as easy as it sounds but its still very simple mabe an hours work ill put pics up once i order everything give it a week or two

I successfully build a system but I'm afraid I won't release that to anyone. Not even the client I was suppose to sell it to will get it. It is just too dangerous playing around with 1.2 KVA. Some capacitors have well over 100V. Some calculations gave answer that some caps could even have some kV in this system. Magnetic fields could also interfere with CAN bus perhaps or with someones pace maker.
