Allow me to introduce myself
My name is Steve. Been heavily into cars for almost 10 years now. I have done VW Sales, Service, Audi Service, and Porsche Service. My cars of choice are VAG but my father is a few days away from picking up his CPO '06 W211 E350.
Short version of the story is that my parents are moving back from Singapore to Houston after a 3 year stint and my father has his eyes set on a Pewter Mettalic E350 @ A. Rod MB in League City. The deal is in the works as we speak. Just waiting for my father to get back on the 17th of this month.
Soooo being a car guy there is NO WAY i can leave this fine piece of machinery alone. So i have a few noob modification questions.
1. What are some of the must have; easy DIY mods. ie most VW's you debadge and can use a scan tool to turn off day time runing lights, modify windows to work with your remote, etc
2. Are HID kits plug and play. He is getting the Premium Package but has halogen headlights and fog lights. I would like to get him some 6k in both when I got to visit. I know some cars need different lighting modules etc.
3. Are there any aftermarket Benz specific parts sites online?? I haven't really searched but I was wondering if anyone suggested any that have a good rep.
4. Last but NOT least, performance. Suggestions or warnings on mods or companies?? Chips, intakes, exhausts?? i know the 350 isnt the most common engine to tune but im sure you can pull something out of it.

-Windows already work with remote from factory on MBs
-Performance mod wise, mostly just ecu and exhaust. I wouldn't even mess with the intake in these cars, they are very good. Also, the E350 and the other new 4 valve engines get a better intake system.

Honestly, I posted this @ work when I really wasn't even suppose to. And this forum format is way different from any other forum I have ever used. A little bit of laziness was involved though.

Thats odd. Most forums I visit use the this very same software. Anyway, search. It'll take you 10-20hrs to read everything to catch up

Pops, MBWorld is like all car forums; search works well and there is almost an infinite number of posts covering these very questions just like in all car forums in the universe (your questions are very common questions in any car forum.) But nobody on any forum likes big, broad questions that take a lot of work to try to answer.
Lots of sponsors on here; take a look around.
Then once you have some specific questions, people here will gladly answer them. There's a lot of good help on these forums for those who also help themselves.
