I had one done yesterday. 23,000 miles on the clock and they told me that it needed an "A" service as well as the "C" service, for a total price of $791. It didn't run a damn bit dfifferent after the service either.

Of course, I had mine done at an authorized Mercedes dealer, or should I say "stealer"?

Almost $800 for service! what have they done to it.. Service A is basically checking everything including fluids... and oil change with filter. That already about $250-$300

According to my MB dealer, there are 2 Maintenance Services, "A" & "B". The "C" service is nothing more than an expanded A service with a few more checks that should be done as the car gets older. I was told that the alphabetical service A=C, B=D, C=A, D=A, etc.. My "D" service which is basically a "B": service included all the items in A and a lot more checks and lubrications, such as sun roof, flushed brake fluid, chassis lubrication, topped off all fluids, windshield wipers, cabin filter. These services are designed to work with your FSS at 12 or 13000 mile intervals or once a year if your driving within that range. Your car will let you know because of the sensors that can detect how and how much you drive.
