Airmatic, tell tell signs that it's going bad
Hey Guys,
I have an 04 e320 with airmatic. Lately it seems like the rear end is somewhat bouncy. The ride seems more harsh. There is not a lot of difference between the three modes when selected. Are there any tell tell signs that a failure is about to happen?? Do the rear shocks fail more often. Thanks for your help.

I am noticing the same thing on mine. I am not noticing any bouncing.
I think its due to new tires I have put on recently which are good year eagle gt. Once summer gets here I will take these off and put some michelins on.
Where do you live? How are the roads there?

Our 500's right front was "lower" with like 1 finger gap. If I recalled, I didn't see any signs before it was busted. The worst thing was that the warranty just expired for a week when I took it in to the dealership. Fortunately I talked to the SA and the dealer was willing to work with us on the price. We paid 700bucks for a new strut.
I think the Problematic option is standard for the 500!? This car has so many problems througout the ownership in the past 4 years.
1) gas tank leakage
2) airmatic strut problem
3) keyless go handle not locking (both front and rear left)
4) telescopic steering wheel linkage snapped
5) engine valve cover leakage
