Install Phone Cradle! Help please ....

First let me say this be a redundant post, but I am new, so please forgive.

I have a 2005 E320 and it does not have the phone installed, I believe that its prewired for a phone system, there is even an antenna plug (please see attached pic). My question is what do I need to add a Bluetooth using the current wires (something inexpensive), can I use the puck with tail? If no, please let me know what part number do I need …

PS. I think my car is prewired as an 04 ?

Thank you so much for your help in advance …..

You need to buy the base with the PUCK. No need to connect the antenna since the PUCK will connect to your phone via Blue Tooth so, the antenna that will be doing the work will be the one on your phone, not the one on the car. You need to buy the base that has that square connector.

Also, you have to code your car to recognize the phone. I took it to the dealer and they did it for mr (of course they charged me for it).

The expensive part is the actual PUCK but to me, is worth the investment.

Good luck!

If you say that your car is pre-wired like an 03-04 model, then you can take advatange of the tele-aid phone connection. From the pictures you have attached, it does indeed look like you're able to use the "bluetooth cradle replacer". But in order for the phone to be fully integrated with the car's COMAND system, you'll need to visit the dealer and get your vehicle version coded. I hope that helps.

The Bluetooth Cradle Replacer enables MY 2003/2004 E-Class and MY 2004 S/CL-Class cars for Bluetooth Hands-Free use, even if the vehicle was never equipped with a phone system. This is possible because these vehicles are equipped with the CP211 Tele-Aid module already featuring Hands-Free support from the factory.

help with BT cradle

I have a 2004 E500 that i bought the BT cradle with tail after reading this thread, the dealer service man here in Greenwich says my car can't do this without getting a UHI or UMI or some adapter put in the back. Everything i read on this forum says to the contrary? How can i convince him or what do i need to have them do with the diagnostic machine to enable it?

thanks!
