Transmission 'Noise' after oil change by stealer

I got the tranny oil change done from stealer, picked the car up last night and I feel the gear changes dont 'jerk' as much, kinda mellowed down but under heavy acceleration I hear transmission whine (not loud but I never had that before). Previous to the oil change, I'd hear my engine but now I dont hear the engine, I hear the transmission ....

I'll be calling the stealer in a bit and we all know what they're gonna say ... its normal ...... I know it isn't - Any suggestions that I can back up my argument with the dealer ?

depression...

Well....I can say that when my tranny was replaced I hear a sort of a whine, but it sounds kind of good (I only noticed it after the new tranny too). I think I know what you mean, but mine isn't very loud- just a low sounding whine or hum. I also have the 2006 E350. I would say monitor how it behaves more because there is a valve body issue with this tranny. The fact that it is shifting "smoother" is typical after a fluid change, at least I've always noticed that.

functionally it has improved but just that noise ... like wind-noise... what could be the issue ? The tech didn't fill it up at the right temp ? (I was tolkd trans fluids are changed at a certain temp) ...

Whats the valve body issue with this tranny ? How can I prevent one

thanks

Some were defective. If the software update did not fix the shifting issues then many dealers
would replace the valve body.

There are a lot of posts about it.

Does the pitch of the whine go up & down or is it a constant pitch between certain speeds?

Just my opinion... but this 7 speed transmission will never be perfect in all respects. Very very few are. Neither is mine, but I don't want to open a can of worms on my car. I had problems which were never resolved on my '04s transmission. The problem is like a pile of sand... they seem to be able to smoothe the problems around a bit and put them somewhere else in the transmission, but not eliminate them. I think the new valve body simply puts that last downshoft at a slower speed (at almost a stop instead of a few MPH), but that causes a problem when you make that fraction of a second stop at a stop sign & then take off again.

I have a 4Matic (5-spd tranny) and also hear the same whine or noise. It seems to appear at 30mph and kind of "disappears" at 35mph. The strangest thing is that the whine would appear again at 45mph ... go away; then at 55mph ... go away ; then at 65mph. The whine is loudest between 30~35mph.

I have 33500 miles on the car and have not brought the issue up with the dealer. I am waiting until I need to change the tranny oil at 39000 miles.

It's not filling it up at a certain temp, it's checking the tranny oil level at a certain temp. Basically, that is mostly true with all cars. The oil needs to be heated/expanded to read the correct level.
