SL - R230 wheels

hey all,

i while a go i got my car a set of SL wheels

they are 18x8.5 ET35 and 18x9.5 ET40
running 245/40 and 275/35

Now i want to run 255/40 and 285/35 tires....would they fit ok??

I lowered it via STAR and the ride is bit harsh for a pregnant wife
Plus, i guess the new size will offer a tiny bit more of a better ride and protection on our crabby roads.

What do you think??

The E gets speedo/odo info from the front therefore it will be off. The rears may be OK. Since its lowered I suggest getting under it and see if you have room for the 10 mm wider tires. That offset is pretty aggressive for an E in the rear with that tire.

There are numerous posts with tire sizing on here. Since your car is lowered all bets are off. You are introducing another variable with that. Your tire is inset 15 mm already. Adding another 5 mm to that may just drive you over the edge, especially if you ever put your pregnant wife in the back seat. Sorry, couldn't resist.

yeah i am even considering jacking up the car again to original height!

I noticed the ride to be harsher after lowering with STAR...is this normal??

Yes, some notice it more than others.
