Ball Joints or Bushings??
Hey Guys,
I'm having a slight squeak from my front driver side wheel. I've done some searching and reading about the ball joints and bushings. My question is this: How do you know if you need to replace a ball joint vs a bushing, and how do you isolate which one.
Since I'm going to be in there working, should I just replace all the joints and bushings??

A side note... I notice that what we call "Bushings" here, in England they aparently call them "Bushes". (Credit HD Theater's Sunday British car show block... Mike Brewer & Edd China on "Wheeler Dealers")

Ball joints usually introduces some steering play/vibrations (not so much on noise) - that's a good tell tale, I believe. The squeaking sounds like it could be a bushings issue (or possible end links).

I'd use an inspection pin or drill of the diameter of the ball joint axle and get it through the bushing to feel whether the hole is elongated or deformed. If it is not, I'd change the ball joint.
