'09 E350 Trunk Panels

Just wanted to know if there is a cover that goes over the jack in the trunk?
I just picked up an '09 E350 and they said that there isn't a panel that goes over the jack but there is one that goes over the battery and spare tire.

Have I been had by the dealership?

Your trunk should have a flat "carpeted" hard panel that makes up the "floor" of the trunk. when you open the trunk, this is what you will see first when you look down (assuming you don't have stuff inside your trunk). You can lift this up by the spring-loaded black plastic handle.

Underneath you will find a "carpeted" molded panel that has a circular compartment about the diameter of the spare tire (but only a couple inches deep). This is about the same length and width as the panel mentioned above.

If you can manager to get your fingers around the edges of this panel and pull it up, you will be able to see your spare tire, jack, tools, and battery underneath. They are all either secured in their own custom-molded compartments (ie: jack & tools & tow hook), or bolted/secured directly to the metal bottom directly (ie: spare tire & battery).

Other than that, there is no additional "panels" covering the jack... the only things covering the jack (that I remember) are the 2 huge "carpeted" panels (1 flat, 1 with a circular molded compartment) I mentioned above. And i say "carpeted" because it's not real carpet... more like a felt material.

thanks for the reply chokaay.

actually thanks for your SD thread as well.

I gave up here and went to my dealership and confirmed there is no felt panels that cover the jack for the 08 and 09 E-class.

So if anybody is every wondering:
like chokaay said..there is your main hard panel that makes up the floor..underneath that you will find a felt flexible panel that covers the spare tire and battery but it doesn not cover the jack. the jack is exposed after opening the main hard panel..

anyways..thought MB would have covered it up to make it cleaner looking but guess not..fancy that

I think you missed the the location we were talking about. You lift that floor panel up and you'll see what I'm talking about.
