New COMAND System

I am new to the forum; I just purchased a 2006 E350 with under 13K miles. My question is whether the new COMAND system (NTG2.5) with integrated Bluetooth and hard drive navigation is compatiable with my vehicle. The physical size of the 2009 W211 COMAND NTG2.5 unit appears to be the same as the COMAND NTG2.0 unit currently installed. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

You can find a lot of posts about the NTG2.5 retrofit task from this and the Audio & Electronics sections.

Since you are from the US, your car would not be the simplest one for the swap, you have the AGW at the trunk and the new Comand works without the AGW (with or without a separate amplifier).

All the info should be behind the search button.

Hopefully someone can address this for me: I would love to do this install on my car but I am hesitant to pay the MSRP for the COMAND from MBZ. There are some NTG2.5 units on eBay coming from Europe for favorable prices, but I have heard that they are knock-offs. Can anyone shed some light on this please?

I believe your message is genuine but you have to understand that the first assumption from a response on a topic like this is that it comes from one who sells knock-offs, specifically when it is the first post on the forum.

Welcome to the forum anyway, I'm sure you can gain more credibility soon.

Just try to help. I went throught the process last month (upgrading from Audio 20 to NTG 2.5 including opening of the storage compartment,DVD free module and linuatronic retrofit), after studying many hours at MBWORLD and BENZWORLD forums). I am not selling items at ebay. If you need any help and my credibility is not a problem please feel free to contact me because I am fully aware about the process (from Audio 20 to NTG 2.5). Have in mind that I have received a lot of help from a member that is located in Norway and really is not a problem to pass the knowledge to you.
I bought mine fron Ebay UK but (that one with integrated 6 dvd changer). I received the unit from Lithuania in perfect condition with manufacturing date nearly the same as my car.I was worry initially if the item is no good but finally everything was ok.

I just want to repeat what I posted above, I was assuming your post was genuine, my point was that it would easily be considered something else.

Now that you refer to a Norwegian forum member, I believe you are talking about a person who has successfully used the same source. Your second post clears all doubts if there ever were any, at least in my eyes.

I hope many forum members will be able to share your experience and knowledge.

A180 CDI W169
Hi. I have a A180 CDI. I installed 6 months ago the Comand 2.5 with HDD. I had the APS 50 earlier. I had many problems to install it sucessfully but it now works fine. The only problem is that the unit can not be codified!!! and the MB dealer told me that he can not enter the unit.
Anyway, I want to update the maps of the GPS for GREECE. Do you have an idea of how I can do that? Thanks
