New 2009 E550 Owner
Well, I have been drooling over the E class since my buddy's parents got one back in 1999. I am a former C55 owner and have missed my favorite German automaker for a few years now. Turned the C55 in off a lease, bought an S5, sold that for a new Lexus GS350. What a mistake that was. Nothing against Lexus but Japanese cars just aren't for me ever since owning a Merc w/ the C55. There are a lot of similarities between the GS350 and E-Class but yet there are also so many differences.
I ended up getting a fantastic deal on a black 2009 E550 w/ the sahara beige interior and black wood. I could not be happier with the combo. Owning a black car is a pain but man does it look good when clean! The car has about 2400 miles on the odometer and has two separate issues on the driver side. The wood by the door handle has 3 hair-line cracks and the metal sill plate is rusted around the edges. Any thoughts on that? I think it is kind of strange for a basically new car to have issues like this but as far as I can and can tell this car has not been in an accident. Those sill plates get wet all the time from snow and rain so I'm really puzzled as to why that would happen. Either way, the dealer is fixing both issues without hesitation.

btw, i agree about the black car (as long as the paint is pretty well maintained). My friend had a 93 500SEL and man, after he would wash it, the thing would look brand new.
