Lowering on rears 275/30-19. Rubbing issues anyone?
I was just about to order a Bilstein B16 coilover kit with ride control when I realized the top of my rear tires may end up rubbing the fender on my E320 Bluetec. Without lowering I have 2finger space, 1 5/8". With the kit I would have 5/8" space with 1" lowering. Anyone slammed/lowered using 275/30-19 on rears have rubbing issues?
I previously had 265/30-19 rear tires but loved the idea of wider tires hence changed to 275/30-19, I was not thinking of lowering it then.

with the width your gonna have to watch how low you can go (obviously) you probly won't clear. im running about 3.5 degrees negative camber in the rear and i had issues with my wheel hitting the inside the quarter panel (running 11 inch wheel)
i ended up getting the body pulled but if i have heavy people in the rear i still hit while turning sharp...

:My bright idea about lowering and keeping wide tires/wheels at the same time probably goes into a ditch; minimum lowering is 1" with the Bilstein coilovers. Need to think positive; potential saving $2,800.
I virtually never carry passengers in this car, hate cleaning even microns of dust off rubber mats, yeah The only weight I ever carry is my 4 bag bowling roller in the trunk, 65lbs and that's only on Fridays.

Communicated with another fellow member who used a PSS9 with a similar setup to mine; lowered 1" and no rubbing issues.
Just ordered BILSTEIN B16 ridecontrol. What the heck; live dangerously!
I'll post installation/before/after pictures

I feel the exact same way right now. Especially with the prospect of buying a cheap track car as well, I almost feel bad spending so much money and having a LOT more I want to spend, both on maintaining and modding/tuning my E550. But, it also makes me really happy so oh well
