Very rare US CDI on ebay (not mine)
You never see these in the US - a 2005 CDI with pretty much every option except pano and Airmatic - has Distronic, Parktronic and very low miles. Thought I would pass it on as this is an ultra rare find...

(I dont know the owner or am not involved with the sale.)

I bought it! This vehicle is not only rare for the options and the miles but also because it is green- my favorite color and the hardest to find.

E350
TRUE STORY:
When I went to look at cars with my friend at FJNB, we saw a brand new green/tan 2007 E350 sitting on the lot.
One year later, I went with my friend to FJNB to look at cars again, and the green/tan 2007 E350 was still there.
When I bought my 2009 E350's in May 2009, the green/tan 2007 E350 was still on the lot.
When I went back in August 2009, it was gone.
I asked a sales person about the vehicle and he said that green MB's were the hardest color to get rid of... besides dark purple. I wonder how desperate FJNB was to get rid of that car, and how much it sold for...

You trying to pour cold water on my dream car? It won't work, I love green! I will never part with this car. I have been looking for this for four years! The 2005 CDI is the best car Mercedes ever brought to this country and it is in my color of choice. I couldn't be happier.
Like the car guys say, there is an *** for every seat.

I for one say you have great taste and I wish you the best of luck with the car. That was a great find with its equipment and mileage.

No no, didn't mean it like that! Of course everyone has their own taste and likes and dislikes. I'm just saying for MB, green/tan is one of the less popular color combos for MB to sell (which could be a good thing since your car would be much more unique... especially as a CDI).
EDIT: And also I am very curious how much FJNB finally sold the car for... a "brand new" 2007 E350 with a less popular color combo in 2009...

Congrats on the purchase. That is a GREAT car. Considering you can't ever find a CDI with even Xenon lighting, and you were able to get one with Distronic - I have never seen that on a US model and I have researched these cars for years. I had to look for a long time to find mine, which has Keyless-Go, Xenon, Trunk Closer, Active seating, Sunshades, Nav, etc. If that car had Pano and Airmatic it would have had every option.
I have only seen one 2005 CDI with Airmatic, but it did not have Xenon, etc. The color combination is also great. You are right - the 2005s are the ones to have as in 2006 many options were eliminated. I did find it interesting that your car has the vents for the center channel speaker instead of the mesh grille.

I would LOVE to have got that green CDI... I love my car and it has been a pleasure to drive. Not 100% trouble free, but 100% fun!

Congrats on the CDI. I'm selling mine after owning it for a year. It's really too bad that Americans in general have such a lousy opinion of diesels. The car is fast, doesn't smell, and get's crazy good mileage. Only knock offs are some rattle and a little more expensive to maintain. It's a real answer now that can cut energy use. It's pretty easy to run the math and see how modern diesels could save 10% of consumption and that would have a very material impact on oil pricing. off the soap box now.
Enjoy the car.
Enjoy the car.

I drove it for a while and then switched to a sports car. It went to my wife. Her back didn't get along with the seats and she wanted something a little smaller and sporty so I picked up a CLK550 on the cheap. She likes that car and that's all that matters.
The CDI was maybe my favorite interstate hauler including big body Benzes and BMW's. 35-40MPG at 80MPH and that wonderful whoosh.
