Arrow warranty service for E320 CDI 2006

Hello,

I have a Dec 2006 E320 CDI that I barely put 6,000 miles on each year. IT has currently ~ 18K miles and the warranty expires December 2010. I still have 1 year to go. I have had the glow plugs blow out on me that were replaced around the 15K mark. MB had to replace the O-ring replaced for the tranny fluid problem which so many of these E class' had problems with.

My concern is that I don't drive around so much and don't want new problems to show up after the warranty runs out.

Could people share problems they have seen on the 2006 E320 CDI that they got taken care of under warranty. Also what is the best way to get these problems exposed and then taken care of?

Are there any recalls that folks are aware of? My dealer tells me there are no recalls on this model.

thanks

These cars are pretty good overall. I have an 06 E320 CDI also and have 76Kmiles. I has had the normal items you would expect, Transmission leak that was covered under warranty. The glow plugs were just replaced at 75kMiles which is normal -- they are a wear items just like spark plugs. I would just drive it and not worry. If you are really concerned I think you can get an extended warranty from MBUSA as long as the New car warranty is still in effect. Check the dealer.

Extended warranty

Dealer cost on an extended 2 year MB warranty for you car is about $1250. If you bought from a customer-friendly dealer, you should not have to pay much more than that.

I am being quoted the following prices. They tell me they can offer a 1500 discount on those prices.

These prices still seem high to me and the coverage is provided by a premier dealer services program "Premier Essential VSC".

(X) 36 Months / 60000 Miles 4,084.00
( ) 36 Months / 75000 Miles 4,228.00

Can the extended warranty be also shopped for from out of area (state?) dealers?

Not awful

Three grand for four years is not bad if it is comparable to the MB extended warranty from a company that is NOT going to disappear or fail to pay.

Who is it, anyway?
