Hissing noise via aux cable?

When I plug my iPod into my glove aux hook up, i get a hissing sound from when i turn the volume up, anybody have this problem?

I had this problem but installed a ferret magnet on the cable and the extra noise went away. You can probably pick one up at an electronics store. You can also salvage one from an extra electronics power cable.

Sometimes this means that the output from the device is at a low volume & the volume on the radio is turned up to compensate, which amplifies background noise.

Another option if AUX volume seems too low (i.e.: need to increase AUX source volume to highest level causing distortion)is to have the headunit Telematics software updated with service disc 1718274059 allowing you to choose between “Standard” and “Boost Mode” in volume menu in AUX application – under warranty mention bulletin LI82.85-P-047991.
