Chrome peeling from interior door handles

Is this the only case of this happening? I searched but didn't find any other similar threads.

It was brought to my attention the other day that my passenger interior door handle has some sharp edges on it. I looked closely at it and the chrome is split and peeling along the top edge for the length of the handle. I examined the driver's handle and it is just starting to split and peel at the tip of the handle. I haven't checked the rear door handles yet.

If a passenger were to slide their fingers on the handle while pulling it they could easily be cut. This is chrome on the interior... I would think it should last the life of the vehicle. What are the odds of this being covered by CPO?

Initial warranty definitely covers this. For CPO you may be able to argue safety concern for replacement of all handles, review copy of CPO warranty if part is specifically excluded.

DYI (replacement involves removing door liner)
Front, rear left side part # 21176601247F24 (for comparison shopping, parts.com $6.90 each)
Right 21176602247F24 (9.49)

Thanks for the posts. If I don't get anywhere with the dealer about it I'll try replacing them myself.

Did anything ever come of this? I've got the chrome peeling issue on my front driver side. I was looking for the part to replace. I've seen some chrome coverings for the exterior handles so I assume there's something similar for the interior

No. Still have the peeling chrome. New handles are available inexpensively from parts.com. I haven't seen any covers available for the interior door handles.
