Faint High Pitched noise with fan on
Ever since I got this car I noticed a barely audible high pitched sound (almost like a electronic amplifier noise if that makes sense). Based on a suggestion from the previous owner of the car I determined that it happens when I turn on the climate control.
Anybody know what is causing this?

Are you sure it isn't the air fan motor up and behind the glove box? Could be the bearings making the noise. My actually makes initially a loud noise when starting the engine when it's really cold weather outside but then dissipates in a couple minutes. There's another recent post about motor fan noise but it's much louder issue.

Noise
Check all the vent openings. You might have one that is almost open or almost closed, making noise.

+1 on checking all the vents. My wife has a habit of turning off the passenger's side vent. If the fan is running at about half speed or greater, it creates a whistling sound.

Ouch ! I had a similar whine that got worse on an old Volvo. My solution was to lube the motor shaft. That would quiet the motor for a month or so at a time. That was a lot cheaper than trying to replace the motor.
Another thing to look at is the air intake. Does the noise change if you remove the cabin air filter? With the filter removed you can see the fan blade spinning. Is there anything touching there?
