It "seems" the easiest way...yes.

But I live in Guam..one qualified shop that can work on M/B's and most places won't even think about shipping to Guam because they all consider it international.

No I have replaced tranny coolers (bypassed the factory) ones before. I generally use a thermostatically controlled in line bypass valve (cnc AL), or a tranny cooler with thermostatically controlled flow fins internal.

Bypass of the M/B cooler would run $60, and regulate tranny fluid at 180 +/- 5 degrees.

Now since the radiator regulates at between 180-190 via the thermostat, I would expect the bypass/recirculation valve would regulate at about that temp.

A cooler for an 11,000 GVW, and seeing as my year round temp never drops below 85F, 50% humidity...the cooler would get airflow from the radiator, and eliminate a leakage issue.

If anyone has any advice..or technical add ins...please have at it.

Just bought a 2007 E320CDI. When I start to drive, I experience sudden loss of power, almost as it goes into safe-mode. When I let go of the accelerator and applies gas again it dissapears. This happens only in the first 10-15 minutes of driving. After that it works without fault.

If I turn of the ignition the problem will reappear, regardless of how long I've been driving before turning the car off.

Any suggestions as to what this might be?

MAF Sensor was replaced and no change but then my husband cleaned the throttle body opening (behind the motor under all the intake housing (find it on youtube.com how to). It cost the price of a shop rag and a few squirts of carburetor cleaner to wipe a little dust off inside the flapper at the opening. Shuddering/jerking/power loss all fixed!!!! I think the dealers are ripping so many owners off saying they are rebuilding and fixing transmissions when chances are that all they are doing is cleaning the throttle body!!!! Try this first, it can't hurt, right?

I have the same issue and I have an indy mechanic replaced the conductor plate and problem Solved. The swifting is as good a new car. Well it cost me $890 (parts and labor) for a new conductor plate (control speed sensors), new trans fluid, filter, 13 pin connector, and cleaning the torque convertor.

I know this is an older post, anyone have the TSB, my E320 is starting to do this jerking on a downhill at low speeds (1st gear) and I have to go into the dealership for other reasons, hopefully I can get as much work done for free or at a lower cost.

So I took my E320 in today at 7 am to MB Honolulu to get the trans looked at (with printouts of the TSB's) while im in the reps office discussing the issues and getting vehicle history the "valet" starts moving it....and bang they scrape the passenger front fender against a concrete pole! While it only looks like some minor paint transfer, this is still unacceptable, maybe that's why they've kept it all day-maybe they are fixing everything and repainting it for free...ok probably not. So anyways back to my story, my E320 was sold as a CPO back in '07 (not to me) from this same dealer and they said "they did all the warranty updates" but the car hasn't been in to them since 2011. So it looks like the previous owner/s didn't take it to MB for maintenance, where they took it I have no idea. But anyways, the dealer has had my car all day and gave me a C 230 as a loaner. Hopefully the "rubbing" the valet did will get me a little extra as far as maintenance goes, the rep did say they would fix the paint rubbing and paint it for free if need be. So I'll update once I hear more.

I just bought this car, very clean with 60k miles only. Changed the speed sensor as it could not change gears at all. Itt drove perfectly but I noticed same thing. ONLY as I came to a stop (at speeds of less than 20mph) did it JERK. I went to the guy who fixed it and his computer said all is well. HE said there is nothing he could do if the computer did not show a code and that I she just continue driving until a code appears. Problem is the jerking really bothers me. IF anyone has been able to solve this, PLS HELP! I am new here on to the mercedes too. Thanks in advance.

Replace the EGS with the correct part number and the jerking problem should go away - happaened to me on a E270 CDI for four years.
