2004 E500 Wagon "Visit Workshop" message
Good Morning everyone. I'm a new member. I am looking to diagnose a problem on the above wagon. I am new to Mercedes problems but have quite a bit of Audi experience and am very mechanically inclined. The car has 116,000 miles and the message appeared last night. It just says visit workshop and has a picture of a boxy little car with an arrow pointing up in it. The car is a 4Matic with Sport package, if that matters. Anyone have any idea what this means? Should I read the codes with my code reader? If so, where is the OBDII connector? The car is new to me. Thanks for your help! Dave

Sounds like an Airmatic issue. Why not check from your user manual the exact explanation for the malfunction message.
The OBDII port is next to the hood release handle. I wish you luck with reading Airmatic codes with some generic code reader.

May be a malfunctioning acceleration sensor to front right, left, or rear right identifiable by stored fault code retrieved with SDS. Part 0045423518 (parts.com $126.60) replaces original 0025426918 for all locations if replaced confirm current part is installed.

Thanks! I am waiting to see it again. I think the code may have been for the time synchronization, it was set to on, but I don't yet have a Nav DVD. I set it to manual and the code went away..
