sold - w211 e320, f250, rx7 race car
Yes, true. The user has to know what they are doing with STAR to do it correctly. I've had it done by both an aftermarket independent and a service guy at the dealer. It does not slam the car, but it lowers it just the right amount for me. I got maybe 3/4" drop? Sport I, II and the raise feature all still work as normal.

The STAR system is a mild drop. Plus MB charges over $100 to have your car hooked up to the SDS computer. As for the links, they can be purchased for much less, and you are able to lower the vehicle to your taste. But as many members have mentioned, the links "tricks" the ECU into thinking the car is still at stock ride height. Therefore the ride will not be as smooth, as when compared to lowering the car by either STAR or an ELM. Personally I am still debating on whether to go the STAR route (car still in warranty), or wait till the warranty expires then purchase an ELM v 2/3.

Does anyone know if lowering the car via STAR, will void any warranty related to the shocks?

I don't agree with that. The ride quality relates to how much the car was lowered. It doesn't relate to how an airmatic was lowered. Now, if we're talking about lowering a car that sits on coils, then, yes, the method of lowering and the amount the car was lowered will determine ride comfort.

I have both links and ELM, btw.
