Engine Modifications (not Bolt ons)

Anyone here played with an e500 motor?
Just been looking around to see if anyone has done anything like bolt on a super charger/turbo charger etc and what issues they ran into etc.
I am not looking for a 1000hp project but rather something that would add say 60% more power

From the net i gather the motors are 10.7 compression or thereabouts ? So not thnking of anything too wild cause i dont want to open the motor. At the same time have to make it look classy/stock and thinking the main obstacles will be rear diff (getting an lsd) and a suitable ecu to control things ?

From what I gather reading around, for the HP gains you are looking for, it is far for economical to just purchase an E55 or 63 and work from there. But, if you are in the dire need to be an high HP E500 go for it.

hehe thanks for the response bud I think the part that will make it costly is the ecu really. I think the hardware can be done for 7-8K USD.
Then i will have to worry about the tranny taking the extra load ... well the torque really and also have to add a rear lsd and finally make it work (ecu).
I basically want to be inside the limits of the tranny so i dont have to change it. But feel i might be spending a stupid amount on the ecu

You can do a Kleemann K2 kit which includes complete supercharger kit, remapped ecu, headers and it'll do 360-380whp. I'm also thinking about going this route. Approximate cost including parts and labour is approximately 8k'ish? I would check with Cory @ Kleemann for pricing.

There's a member on here with a white CLS500 that did the upgrade and despite a few hiccups he was very happy...
