I see so many posts about this common failure. Has Benz issued a recall of any sorts? If not it seems like they should be held accountable in a big way by federal agencies.

Yes, and they should be ordered to stop building cars, or at least importing to the US. Would make our MBs a lot cheaper.

The CPS sensor failure should be less frequent on a W211 actually, perhaps you should feel lucky.

My 221 had a CPS recall although I have not heard of problems, at least no symptoms in my car.

This a relatively cheap issue to identify and fix. The radiator leaks are more serious issues with the 211, one facing that issue deserves to be angry.

CPS are also common failure items on BMWs (like every 40-60-80k miles)

Not saying it's ok but it is not just a MB problem

Exactly--it's a Bosch problem.

It will last longer than the warranty period in most cases and is not a recall item (these are safety and emissions only).
