Just took my E500 in for a "look-see"
Two issues are being evaluated.
1. Ticking in the motor under acceleration. Acceleration and power are not affected, just my sanity. The incessant ticking was driving me NUTSO! :p I think it's the motor mounts. We'll see...
2. There's a ghost in my HK system!
He's from the Static Underworld. "Unable to establish audio connection..." with static has shown up in my HK stereo. It may be a loose fiberoptic connection. Perhaps an overheating gateway module (less likely).
I did get a C320 loaner. Nice little car with ample power, but it's just simply in a different league compared with the E...
I'll keep you posted on my journey...

my car doesn't tick on acceleration - (it's an e320) I just wanted to say - it must feel good to roll into your garage!
Does your radio kind of fade in and out? I thought I read some other posts related to that - just noticed that my HK setup does that on occaision.
Good luck on having them diagnose the ticking - it would drive me crazy!!!

No fading in and out... just the static and "unable to establish audio connection" message on the screen.
The sound is really quite remarkable for a "stock" upgrade... I'm hoping the engine tick is an EZ fix.
