Command Screen - Cleaning Instructions?
Im afraid to touch my command screen. I have heard of warnings of how easy it is to scratch, so how do I clean it. Who has the procedure handy?

I keep a microfiber cloth in the car under the seat in the storage compartment to clean the dust from the console and dash. If a passenger happens to touch the COMAND screen and gets fingerprints on it, I will take sunglass cleaner found at places like Sunglass Hut and spray lightly on the microfiber towel and wipe the COMAND screen very lightly. It seems to do a great job and leaves no streaks and has never damaged mine at all (I am very picky when it comes to these things).
Never use an interior cleaner/shine on it - especially Windex. There is an anti-glare coating on it that is easy to damage. If you use something that is too strong. you will streak the anti-glare coating and the screen will look horrible.

The screen has an A/R (Anti-Reflective Coating) which shouldn't be cleaned with products containing Amonia (Windex). A Micro Fiber eye glass lens cleaning cloth is fine as long as you don't have to rub too hard on stubborn finger prints. Otherwise use an A/R approved eyeglass lens cleaning spray. Spray it on a soft paper towel (Bounty) then lighty wipe the screan.
No matter how hard you watch the screen, the car wash guys will press hard on it with their scratchy, boiled terry cloth wiping rags and leave abrasions. They're usually only visible when the unit is off.

If it's just for dust I use a make up brush that my wife had laying around. It is super soft and just takes the light dust off. If you are looking to remove the scratches than you have to get a light plastic polish (I used a meguiars brand) and gently polish off the anti glare coating. Once you do that you can re-apply an aftermarket anti glare screen (they sell them on ebay) that is impossible to scratch. The factory mercedes anti-glare coating is notorious for scratching, even with light cleaning.
Once I removed the factory anti glare coating and applied the cover my screen looks brand new all the time.
