Brake Pads

Anybody use EBC red stuff brake pads? What are your thoughts on those?

EBC

I used them on the last change. It reduces the brake dust somewhat. I would estimate about 40%, but you still get black dust.

03 E320 -wife's car now; 07 Porsche Boxster S - my toy
Porterfield

I put in Porterfield in my 03 E320 and saw about an 80% reduction in dust for my "spirited" street driving. Now my wife has the car and I have to strain my eyes to see any dust. I don't know what the EBC's cost but the Porterfield's are around $120 + s/h, and I don't remember what the coefficient of friction was for these pads.

Regards,
paul...

I'm a big fan of Porterfield. 80-90% reduction brake dust.

Akebono ceramic front and rear. No dust, No squeak, whatsoever. Have had them on my 06 e350 for 12k miles and they still look new (check them every 5k miles). Feel just like factory stopping power, if not better.

Thanks for all the replies. It's about time I replace my pads. I get a squeal every now and then. I want to reduce dust and not warp my rotors. I had ceramics on my maxima and went through 2 sets of rotors in 6 years. I put on cross drilled rotors and went back to semi-metallic pads and had excellent stopping power, low dust with no damage to the rotors. I'm not messing with the rotors on my baby unless I have to. I think I may go with the Porterfield's on all 4 corners. Anybody got link to where I can get them? BTW I just threw on my 19" AMG Style mags. I'll upload some pics.
