End-of-Lease Procedure

Hello everyone,

My E-class is going to be out of its lease soon and I'm wondering whether to keep it. Just in case I decide not to, does anyone know what's involved in end-of-lease procedure? What stuff do they check? And how long does this "check" take?

Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

The check is very basic and nothing to really be concerned about. MB will charge you to turn the car in as well unless you buy or lease another Mercedes. I think it was around $400 for my C55 a few years back.

The check takes about 10 minutes. They will use the credit card to go over the car if you have any scratches or dents. So long as they fit within the credit card, then you should be fine. Also, make sure you are up to date on your services, as they will check those as well. The dispostion "turn-in fee" is $595. This is waived if you lease/purchase a new or CPO'd preowned.

Just turned in my wife's GL450 and picked up a 2007 E350. The turn in is painless and done at the dealer. You get a checklist showing if they flagged anything. Her truck was fine so we had no charges. The disposition is waived if you lease another MB or purchase a new or used MB and finance it through MBFS.

Thanks, everyone! I will most likely lease or finance another Benz. Thinking of converting to the CLS since the new taillights on the new E grosses me out. It looks like a friggin' Camry lol.

But it's good to know that the checks are basic. I thought they were gonna check into engines and all that, not that my engine isn't good.

Speaking of service, sometimes I'm late servicing the car (up to 2000km overdue), will this be a problem? This is a dealer's issue since I couldn't get an appointment in time and they said 2000km over was okay.

It won't be a problem at all. They really aren't that **** about checking over the leased cars at all.
