BBS LM's 18's + Kics
Came back from lunch to find my car on blocks with all 4 wheels GONE!
Was parked in secured parking structure next to the office building in a good neighborhood in Southern Cali...
Will get the same (stock) rims but would like to get better then stock tires - any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

I never believed in the locks either because I thought no one would bother to steal wheels nowadays, but I was wrong. My locks were $109 from my dealer about 18 months ago.

First they place the 4 blocks at the jack points while the car is sitting high on its tires. Then they cut the 4 valve stems at the same time. The car lowers itself evenly (no tilt) and securely onto the blocks. Then they remove the wheels with X wrenches.
Fast as an indie pit stop, and pretty profitable for a scant few minutes work... No jacks, no muss, no fuss.

4 Sport Wheels w/ Michelin Tires mounted & Balanced: $3200 Even if it slows them down, MAYBE someone will pass by & call the cops, or jot down their license plate.. or maybe they will go to a car with no locks.

as much of a pain in the *** as it would be, why not put on 5 sets of wheel locks? if 1 set will take a thief a lil while longer than normal, think about what 5 sets would do

It's happening in OC too. The police department told me that gangs and other nefarious groups would organize "raiding parties" and rent mini-busses and vans to transport these "raiding parties" to good neighborhoods in OC. Then when they're done, they'd get transported back up to south central and the other places they're from.
My house is in a neighborhood that is targeted, and had 2 attempted break-ins within the last 12 months.

A friend of mine posted that someone robbed their entire house, took all the food/beer out of the fridge and took off in their Escalade. 100% cleaned out, car stolen too .. its a decent neighborhood as well.

Fuu**. That's really scary man. My Mom lives in a house in around those areas. People are going nuts. All this money and effort put into stupid issues, they should be putting so much more effort into fending off Gangs, etc. here.

And, guess what, they sold them on Ebay under the user name "Top Level Auto".
Bet this is the same crew that got yours.
To the op, sorry for your loss...these guys are so brazen and like Barry said, they do it like a Indie car crew.

This reminds me of someone I know who rented their wheels. Didn't pay and the company came to 'repo' the rims. When he went to the car it was in a similar state as that in which you found yours. Sad story, but funny. Theft is no joke so I dont want to make light of that.
Anyway, glad insurance took care of them. What I take from this thread is that when i moved to California, I must find a home with a garage and immediately register my beretta and my sig
