I have E320CDi (2004).
Downloaded COMAND service update – (W 211 589 13 22 00) for model series 211 from http://service-parts.mercedes-benz.com.
I have 7 files after burning on CD, like it has to be.
Everything started fine, but due the update I get this:

No but it means your fiber optic ring is defective at the head unit aka COMAND and doesn't get the wake up signal coming from the Audio Gateway (AGW).

 

I would love to get rid of the stupid warning message that displays after the star symbol. Anyone heard of a hack for that?

The don't let COMAND distract you? This is hard coded and can't be removed. Why is it bothering you? It's there for 5 seconds and then it's gone.

 

It's there for more time than the star, and I despise all stupid warnings. It offends me, and I don't need to defend my reason(s) for being offended, but because I feel like it, I'll just say I do not appreciate being lumped in with the idiots that need to be told the obvious!


"Hard coded"? The star can be switched out for the AMG logo... I'm sure the NSA has someone that can whack the idiotic blather.... and with enough money, very little is not possible.

This is for ECE COMAND only. If you try to update an USA spec COMAND with it it will either say wrong variant or you could brick your COMAND and it's nothing more than a letter weight!

I have W211 E320 (made 2003) with simple stereo (no NAV and AUX options). Picture attached. Is there any chance to activate MP3 playback or, at list, AUX input on it using your upgrade? And if it's possible, could you please send me link to PM.

From what I know when I had that head unit - the unfortunate answer is No - BUT you can have the Aux input by using an iPod Cassette adapter and it's only $12
