Decided to take my car in for a brake fluid change and was quoted over the phone a price of $165.25, but when i went to pick up the vehicle the charges were $229 labor, $29 brake fluid flush, $10 hazmat, $19 shop supplies. So i asked to speak with someone who looked it up in the book, and found i was quoted the price for cars without SBC. But because they quoted the wrong price they only charged me the $165.25

Not sure how much more difficult the SBC makes the procedure, but seems expensive for brake fluid change. My tranny flush was only $189

tranny flush from the dealer is about 300. brake system check and flush is bout 200

Since I just purchased my car and it had close to 50k on the odometer, I had the following done by ASC in Arlington, VA:

Brake Fluid Flush - $194
Transmission Fluid Flush - $190
Power Steering Flush - $200

I think that the power steering pump and fluid takes more of a beating than the transmission.

Brake fluid flush requires use of STAR machine on SBC cars.

I had my 2006 E320 CDI with SBC done at MB in Fredericksburg,Va for $90. Sounds like some Dealers are gouging just a bit.
