Sprint Booster vs. Brabus Module

So I'm not quite sure how to word this so I'll try my best...

I know a guy at a dealership that has access to these modules that mimic the Brabus performance module. He was always telling me I should try one out.

Then I saw the Sprint Booster. I understand that it just eliminates the accellerator lag created by the drive by wire system.

Do these "Performance modules" that people offer do anything OTHER than what a Sprint Booster does? If not, I would just buy a booster, call it a day, and bank the extra $150 that the module would have cost me. If the module would actually communicate to the car and make adjustments to performance curves, then it's worth the extra money.

I'm thinking they're probably one in the same. Anybody know?

I could be wrong but I think the Brabus module you mentioned is probably an ECU tune which will increase some hp. Sprint booster on the other hand just makes you "feel" faster.

sprintbooster does not make u "feel" faster. u def go faster, u accelerate at a much greater rate.

I've got both installed on my 2005 E320 CDI, and each do entirely different functions. Barbus module updates the ECU, changes the fuel mapping, timing, etc. Brabus actually improves the HP and torque.

As for the Sprint Booster, that just changes the rate/signal on the accelerator pedal. So as you depress the pedal, the fly by wire signal is increased at a faster rate to full throttle. This has NO improvement on HP nor torque. It does help make the car "feel" faster since the pedal is more responsive.

Thanks to the glowing reviews on this site, I ordered a Sprint Booster. The current version has selectable settings. I don't know how easy it will be to install and route the switch, but I have a week to figure it out.

i installed the sprint booster in my diesel and didnt feel no change in acceleration. maybe its because the diesels have turbo lag

Whoa, no way. SB made a significant difference. Actually in SPORT mode, the SB made the accelerator abit too jumpy, ie. too responsive. Mostly have mine in COMFORT mode w/SB.

I bought mine from Drautomotiveonline through eBay. I wanted to use my AMEX card, and that was the only way I could (with PayPal).

Price was $329 shipped for the current model with 3 modes (off, fast, faster).
