Ear popping?
I was just wondering if any of you guys have experienced ear popping (like on a plane) during heavy acceleration on the freeway (esp with the moonroof open). I have NEVER experienced this before in my previous car.... but then again.. I didn't have 300+hp.
I have noticed this more lately since I've been doing alot of open top driving (nice weather).
Also, I have engaged the ESP program on several occassions with the car in "2nd" gear at about 40 mph (tach about 4000 rpm's or so)... I think I also suffered some whiplash too ;-)
Have a good day!

Ear popping?
OK, I swear to God, I was just thinking that I cannot believe my ears have been popping in the Benzo. I thought it was my imagination! It does seem to happen when I touch 100mph in less than 30 seconds. Oh well...I have never had a 300hp car either. Can't wait to see what the E55 will bring.

Cause:
When you have the sunroof open at high speeds, air rushes into the rear of the cabin and has nowhere to go.
This is called back pressure and is why it is sensitive to your ears.
Solutions:
Open any window,(a back one will work better) a little to allow air to escape and reduce the pressure.
Or better yet,
Close the sunroof a little. Closing the sunroof about an inch or so from the fully opened position greatly reduces the amount of air flowing into the cabin and will remove the extra pressure, helping with your ear problems.
Try it, I'm sure it will help.
