The iPod integration kit is available as an accessory from the dealer (part no.B6 782 4238). From what I recall, it takes several hours of labor to install. And you can only control the ipod from the steering wheel controls -- not the Command screen. A better way may be to give up the CD changer and install an aftermarket accessory sold by www.cartronics.com (a sponsor of this board) and control your ipod from the Command screen.
You probably already know this but I thought I would just throw it out since I know some readers haven't found it. Car won't be able to control the iPod nor will it charge but the simple (and cheap) way is to just plug into the aux input in the glovebox.

Yep, you're right, knew that, but thanks as its important to mention for those that dont realize it. That jack is hidden in the roof of the glove compartment and you cannot control it unless you have long arms, the door is open, and you're not watching the road The full cable is a nice option because of the charging for one, and the safety is the other well above convenience by using steering wheel and COMAND system. Plus I dont believe the aux port conversion does the same full bandwidth digital audio ?? could be wrong, anyone know for sure ? also I havent seen an ipod to aux cable, is that a radio shack type item ? I so wish apple didnt have to be proprietary....

Yes, but I would suggest buying from Best Buy, Apple Store or another electronic store equivalent. It's a standard cable. I had a bad experience with a Radio Shack cable using it for this application. The tip broke off inside my iPhone when I pulled it out, I almost had to get another phone because no one could get it out...including Apple, computer stores and even a watch repair shop! With nothing to lose I tried superglue and that fixed it. I now avoid Radio Shack cables.
