Lower control arms - 03 E500
My local indy mechanic quoted me $490 parts and labor to replace the front lower control arms on both sides of my 03 E500. Is this a good price?
The control arms are both worn and clunk a bit on hard bumps. The previous owner recently replaced all ball joints on both sides, so that saved me some money.

Bought one on e-bay for $69, and did the install myself. Took about an hour. I'd say that a mechanic could do moth in an hour and a half. Not sure what he's charging for labor, but if he's charging 1 1/2 - 2 hours, then you could probably save some bucks by purchasing the parts yourself.
If he's asking for more than 1 1/2 - 2 hours, then I'd say he's charging too much in labor.
