39K transmission service....very frustrating!
So I had my car in for the 39K transmission and tranfer case service on Friday. When I pick up the car, I notice on the the bill that I was only charged for transmission service and not the transfer case oil change. I bring this to the attention of the service advisor and he tells me transfer case change is much later? Is this bulls**t to cover up the fact they forgot to do it? If this is true, when is the transfer case oil change supposed to be performed?

I had the exact same experience. I requested that they change both the transmission and transfer case fluid. Upon returning, they only changed the transmission fluid. I asked why and got the same answer: "Its not needed yet."
I plan to have my changed at the next service, if not before. I find it odd that so many MB dealers chose not to do this, despite the fact that the service manual recommends it at this time.

When I asked the dealership for a quote for a transfer case fluid change, they responded saying they only do transfer case service on G-wagons. Is the transfer case non-servicable?

I have no idea why the dealers continue to not respect the factory maintanence schedules. I had to argue for an hour to get my dealership to properly change my transmission fluid and filter after they had "flushed" the transmission.
