Fixed airmatic wire short
A few days ago, my 2003 E500 gave me an "Airmatic-Visit Workshop" message. Everything seemed fine, so I decided to ignore the warning until I had time to buy a code reader. This morning when I went out to the garage, the suspension was raised up to maximum height on all four corners; I remember reading the airmatic pump ground wire breakage thread; sure enough, when I removed the driver's front wheel well liner, I saw the broken wire. I stripped and soldered the wire, and was happy to see my car settle back down to Sport I a few seconds after hitting the key. The airmatic warning also disappeared off the cluster. I've only owned the car for about a month, and the airmatic has never left the car sitting level at shutdown, it always had a slight tilt towards the driver's side. Now, it sits perfectly level. And it sits a bit lower in Sport I and Sport II than it ever has.
