Cool 03 E320 -> E63 Body Conversion Question

I have a 2003 E320 and as awesome as it is I got in a minor accident today - _-; But no worries I wanted to get my front bumper replaced anyways.

So I want to get the E63 Style Bumper, but as everyone knows, the E63 was only from 07-09 or something like that. The two pictures below show what I have and what I want to change the car to. I think the 03-06 W211's have different hood than the 07-09 W211's.

1) Is this statement correct?
2) Can I just replace the grill or do I have to change the entire hood piece
3) Where can you buy the outer bumper guards?
4) Will something like this work?
http://www.visracing.com/newcatalog/...nt-Bumper.html

5) If I do get this body kit, will it be able to house a normal E63 Carbon Lip?

I converted my 04 to a 07-09 AMG, it is not a big deal. You do not need a new hood, just the new grill. The headlights are also ok, unless you want the updated look. The outer bumper guards (I assume you mean the piece that holds the turning lights) is integrated into the bumper and is not a seperate piece anymore. Not sure about these aftermarket kits, I heard some horror stories about fitment - hence, I went all original. Be advised that these small parts that you need can add up quickly.

Good luck.

Hey thanks for the advice. I heard you can only order AMG parts if you have an AMG car. Is this true? Is it worth getting someone to be a middle man? And how much does it cost for just an E63 Front bumper. Oh and does it come painted? Thank you so much

You don't need to have an AMG car to order parts, just a good/cheap source. I really advise you not to do it if you have to buy all new parts, the bumper alone is something like $1,200 unpainted. Keep your eyes open on this forum, ebay and craigslist. Somewhere here is a thread with a complete list of parts needed including prices. If you have the part numbers, try parts.com they are very competitive.

Dont think you need to replace your hood. Plenty people with pre-facelift W211's have swapped out their headlights for 07-09 headlights when doing their E63 conversion.

I have a CF Lip that will fit your bumper when you do your conversion. Hit me up if you're interested. It's the carlsson CF style front lip, brand new, never mounted.

Tons of members here have successfully installed Gary's E63 bumper with no fitment issues and I believe no issues when mounting E63 front lips.
