Exclamation 2004 E320 Child Door Lock Deactivation?!?

I have an '04 E320... the owner's manual states nothing, anywhere regarding child door locks. There is a small hole where you'd think a child-lock switch would be, but no such switch is present... Yet, the right, rear passenger door will not open from the inside, at all. But the left one will just fine. How do I fix this?

There is a cable which connects the lever in the door to the mechanism. It is probably disconnected. There are no rear door child locks.

That would involve taking the inside of the door off, correct?

Yes. Not dificult for someone who's done it before. The whole repair should take only a half hour to an hour.

So, I have the exact problem...I took the panel off to discover that the cable is still attached to the inside lever. I then looked into the hole where you would think there is a child lock mechanism and can see that when I pull the inside lever, the cable is attached at this end and still pulling a copper looking mechanism...what would be the next step?
Thanks.

E320 child lock

I have the same problem. The cable is ok as when I push the knob down and pull it up, I can open the door from inside.
When I lock and unlock the car with the remote.....I cant open the pass side rear door from inside. I have to play with the door knob again.

Hello everyone, just wondering did anyone ever figured out what was wrong? I have an 04 E500 with the exact problem. Rear-passenger side door won’t open from inside but it does from outside.
