W211 E240 Strong Vibration between 60-90 mph. Brake Warning on MFD
My E240 - AMG 19" 2 piece, 5 spoke and Michelin PS2 - 265/35-19 & 295/30-19, have had them on for a while.
There is a horrible vibration between 60 and 90 mph, irrespective of road surface. Have had the rims balanced at least 3 times at 3 different places. The tires have at least 85% life left.
I have opened the suspension 7 times (not kidding) but cannot find the problem!
If I grab the steering wheel with a lot of strength, I can feel the vibration as a low frequency "heavy clicking" lower down the column..maybe 5-6 times a second???
Its driving (no pun intended) me nuts!!
Also, whats up with the Check Brake Warning on the MFD? Brake pads have oodles of life left, sensors are intact, brake fluid was a bit low but topped it up, lots of brake feel ( I have the e55 AMG setup)

I had a similar issue, though vibration on my mine (08 350 4MATIC) started between 80-90mph. I had just replaced the two rear tires when I started noticing the vibration. Took it to the dealer, they road-forced balanced it and vibration is now gone. Lastweek, I did over 100mph and no vibrations at all.

Hi lorryfan,
Thanks for the insight. I have just ordered a new set of OZ Giotto II's with new Michelin PS2's. Cost me both my arms and legs..LOL! I hope it is this and not something else..
Did you experience even greater vibration when you took your foot of the gas at 90 or under, but more than 60?

No, I did not. Everytime I came close to other cars where breaking was not required, I just took my foot off the gas but did not notice any vibrations at all.
Hope the new tires and road force balancing will resolve yours as well. Keep us posted!
