Secondary Battery E350
I have a 06 E350 sedan. The radio and navigations functions stopped all of a sudden. The monitor no longer communicates with control panel; the LCD panel is not damaged since it displays the logo clearly.
What could be the cause of that?

First of all, you car is a W211, you would get better help from that sub-forum.
If I understood correctly, your Comand gets frozen when it first displays the star at startup? Sounds like an issue at one of the MOST ring devices. You should either have it diagnosed or start pulling MOST ring control units off from the ring (those that can be by-passed). You could also reset Comand, AGW, navi processor and the phone controller at least (pull the fuse).

MOST stands for Media Oriented Systems Transport, google gives you details but the question is about the fibre based connectivity between audio & telematics devices in the car. Fiber leaves one unit and enters the next one, making a ring. If you remove one device from the fibre ring, you have unplug the fibre and use a connector to close the fibre ring, and unplug the power plug to the device in question (to remove the wake-up signal too).
Ideally fault codes should be erased after the experiment, can be left for the next service too.
