Is the recommendation that comes up on the message display (in the speedo) stating to check the oil level at next fuel fill generated by an actual level sensor reading or a time/miles generated trigger???

If it was "low" when the engine was hot and above when cooled, I wouldnt sweat it. That extra 1/2 qt will get suspended within the oil passages and filter and everywhere else and really shouldnt over-accumulate in the pan potentially froathing up.

It's a 1/2 a quart. Engine will be fine.
